On this episode

So many of us feel guilty for things we can’t control – it weighs us down and keeps us from setting healthy boundaries. Instead of worrying about the things we can’t influence, we need to focus on what’s within our control.

Easier said than done.

But carrying guilt for things we can’t change isn’t helpful. Instead, we need to be clear about our responsibilities and set boundaries where needed.

When we don’t, we risk overfunctioning – doing more while noticing how little it feels those around us are doing. We can end up taking on responsibilities that aren’t ours, which is a big contributor to burnout.

This episode is an invitation to take a moment so you can reflect on situations where you feel guilty. Ask yourself “What can I control here?” Focus on taking those steps, and give yourself permission and grace to release anything that isn’t yours to carry.
